Georgia Southern University launch a new mobile application so people can read campus news, search course catalogs and navigate the Statesboro campus.
The app, which the college made available Thursday, will also allow people to quickly dial campus police and even check out scores and schedules from the different campus sports teams.

The new president of Macon State College will be Jeffery Allbritten, the president of the Collier County campus of Edison State College in Florida.
The State Board of Regents hired Allbritten Friday. He begins July 1.
He will be the college's sixth president and replaces David Bell, who is stepping down June 30.
Allbritten previously served as a dean at Florida State College and was an associate dean at Middle Tennessee State University. LAURA DIAMOND

Fulton County has been recognized for a 12th consecutive year as one of the best places for music education, the school system announced Thursday. "Fulton is well-know locally and nationally for its music programs," School Superintendent Cindy Loe said. "Every year, our schools achieve high honors at state and national competitions and even perform at some of the most prestigious music conferences, such as the Midwest Clinic." This latest recognition is based on a nationwide survey conducted by the NAMM Foundation and several partner organizations in the filed of music and education.
