Chick Krautler, the director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, announced his retirement Wednesday, to take effect June 30.  That comes on top of the resignation of ARC's comprehensive planning chief, Tom Weyandt, late last year.

The two moves come just as ARC enters the trickiest phase of preparations for the 2012 regional transportation tax referendum, where local leaders will pick a transportation list this summer for voters to consider.  Krautler said the staff could handle it.  "I've got really good people that work here," he said.
