Befitting the champions of Major League Soccer, Atlanta United will play its first home game of the new season with crosswalks painted in the team’s honor.

Crosswalks around Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the team’s home field, were given the “Five Stripes” treatment recently with a red and black paint job reflecting Atlanta United’s colors.

The team plays Cincinnati this afternoon at 5 p.m. and is hoping to have better fortunes than its had on the road this season. Part of that will be an expected home crowd of more than 60,000.
