3 men shot in northwest Atlanta
Three men were shot in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood Friday, one in the back with a shotgun blast.
Atlanta police, however, received conflicting accounts from the victims about what happened, according to a police spokesman.
The incident occurred in the 2500 block of Loghaven Drive. Police found Sergio Anderson with a gunshot wound under his arm and Philep Copeland with wounds to his legs and chest.
A short time later at another residence on Loghaven Drive, police found a third man, Demetrius Johnson, with what appeared to be a shotgun wound to the back, according to police spokesman Sgt. Curtis Davenport.
Copeland told police they had just arrived at his home at 2554 Loghaven when two men hiding in bushes emerged and shot them. Police said Copeland later changed his story and said the two assailants followed the three inside the house, where they were shot. Police said the victims could not explain the reason for the shooting.
The two suspects were described as black males, one light-skinned with a medium build, 6 feet tall, short hair and a tattoo of a cross under his right eye. The second suspect, also 6 feet and medium build, was dark-skinned. Both were wearing black clothing.
The victims said the suspects left in a dark colored SUV, possibly a Trail Blazer.
The three victims were treated at Grady Memorial Hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
