Jasmine Lynn is being remembered Sunday at a special worship service at Spelman College Sisters Chapel, while pastors across metro Atlanta urge the public to help police find those responsible for her death.

Lynn, a 19-year-old Spelman sophomore, was killed about 12:30 a.m. Thursday by a stray bullet while she walked with a friend on the Clark Atlanta University campus.

Police questioned and released one “person of interest” in Lynn’s shooting.

On Friday, in response to Lynn’s death and other high-profile crimes, Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington met with pastors and police chiefs from across metro Atlanta. The group plans to meet again Sept. 17 at the Cobb County Police Department.

In addition to Sunday’s 10 a.m. service at Sisters Chapel, two events paying tribute to Lynn will be held Tuesday. A prayer walk and vigil starts at 4 p.m. at the intersection of James P. Brawley Drive and Mitchell Street, followed by a 4:30 p.m. Service of Remembrance at Sisters Chapel.
