No lottery players matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions game, boosting the jackpot to $173 million for Friday’s drawing.

One Georgia Lottery player matched the first five numbers drawn Tuesday - 4, 11, 32, 39 and 40 - but not the Mega Ball of 33. That player, along with five other players in California, Florida, Maryland, New York and Virginia, won $250,o00 each.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been climbing since July 29, when a player in New Jersey won $19 million.

The jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball multi-state lottery is $50 million.
