Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Cobb County, Marietta and Smyrna are working to reduce conflicts between the base and surrounding community. Some issues are light, glare, noise, vibration, traffic and growth.
A public workshop on a air base joint land use study is planned 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Marietta High School, 1171 Whitlock Ave.
Dana Johnson, Deputy Director for the Cobb Community Development Agency, said challenges were brought up by the public at an earlier meeting, and Thursday’s meeting will be about gathering ideas and solutions. The 1,633-acre air base is located between Smyrna and Marietta.
