An Atlanta-area man drowned Sunday night at Cocoa Beach in Florida.

Timothy Jerome Myers, 29, was pulled from the water in the Minutemen Causeway area around 7 p.m., according to Sgt. Scott Rosenfeld with the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

Myers, of McDonough, was unresponsive while transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he died, police said.

Myers was seen using a flotation device, and in the water with another person, just before he was pulled from the water, police said.
