The McDonough City Council voted at its July 1 meeting to approve an administrative variance request for the Green Valley Villages development in the Industrial Blvd. corridor.
The applicants requested a reduction in the front yard setback from 20 to 18 feet for a specific lot on Hendrick Drive, which officials said was within the 10-percent reduction threshold allowed in the city code. The council also approved the sanction of James L. Whitaker P.C. CPA to provide financial service to the city in the form of a year-end audit for the fiscal year that ended June 30 along with other necessary reports.
The fee was for these services is expected to range from $46,000 to $48,000 and will be paid from the city’s general fund.
