Mayor Reed to speak at GSU graduation

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will be the commencement speaker at Georgia State University's fall graduation ceremony. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgia Dome.

About 3,500 students will receive bachelor, master or specialist degrees, officials said.

On Sunday, 101 doctoral candidates participated in the Ph.D. commencement and hooding ceremony held at the Rialto Center for the Arts. Jennifer McCoy, a GSU political science professor and director of the Carter Center’s Americas Program, was the keynote speaker.
