Riverdale’s mayor and city council voted unanimously Monday to enter into an agreement with MARTA to establish how the authority would operate in Riverdale. City officials also settled on how MARTA would operate advertising in bus shelters.

MARTA will run 37 bus stops in Riverdale that will be implemented in phases in March and October every year. The agreements worked out how two of the stations to be built on Lamar Hutcheson Parkway and on Church Street near the Riverdale Town Center in Phase I would run.

MARTA will be responsible for maintenance of the stations even though they will be on city property.

The city and MARTA will equally split revenue generated from bus shelter ads.
