A MARTA bus collided head-on with another vehicle Wednesday afternoon, injuring 13, including a 3-year-old girl.
The bus was following route 119 around 2 p.m. and was preparing to turn into the Indian Creek MARTA station off Redan Road when the other vehicle swerved into its lane. The bus was struck on the front left side, said Lyle Harris, a MARTA spokesman.
"As far as we can tell, there were no life-threatening injuries," Harris said. "Of course, we're concerned about the condition of the 3-year-old."
The girl was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The others were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Harris said the driver of the other vehicle -- he had no description of it -- was charged by DeKalb County police with failure to maintain a lane.
All those injured were aboard the bus, including the man who was driving it.
"As far as we know, there was no operator error on our part," Harris said.
