Marietta will hold a Public Review Meeting on a federal grant this week.

The meeting is scheduled at 5 p.m. March 19 at 268 Lawrence St., Suite 200, Marietta, to receive comments on the PY2020 Annual Action Plan for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

Estimated funding of $539,608 from this federal program is allocated to various activities that serve the needs of low and moderate-income persons of Marietta.

Proposed allocations are:

  • Housing Rehabilitation - $134,473
  • Administration & Planning - $107,921
  • Elderly/Disabled Emergency Grants - $100,000
  • Rehabilitation Activity Service Delivery - $96,273
  • Homeownership Assistance - $20,000

Public Services:

  • YELLS - $35,341
  • Marietta Police Athletic League - $15,600
  • The Center for Family Resources - $10,000
  • SafePath Children's Advocacy Center - $10,000
  • Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta - $10,000

In case the final allocation differs from the expected amount of $539,608, all proposed project budgets will be proportionally increased or decreased from the estimated funding levels to match actual allocation amounts, according to a city statement.

The Public Comment period ends March 30.
