The Marietta Board of Education is proposing an increase in property taxes by 4.92 percent.

Annual proposed tax increases for a house with a fair market value of $218,418 is about $70 and, for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $495,941, around $167.

Three public hearings on this tax increase will be held at 5:30 p.m. July 12, and 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 19 at the Marietta Board of Education office, 250 Howard St., Marietta.
