Marietta City Council members are expected to review a proposal to allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at water parks during their next meeting at 7 p.m. June 10, Council Chambers, City Hall, 205 Lawrence St.

This request came from Michael Sard, representing SFOG Acquisition Company for Six Flags White Water - Atlanta, 250 Cobb Parkway North, Suite 100, Marietta.

The council also is expected to discuss adding a $500 application fee for road races and an alternate road race route.

Council members will consider allowing “free play” until the end of July at the Elizabeth Porter Recreation Center and supporting the Dobbins Air Reserve Base.

Also, they will discuss expansion of the “Gateway Marietta Community Improvement District,” approval of a preliminary plat for the Estates at Parkside, 1651 Gilbert Road and elimination of the zoning stipulation that requires rear alley access to most of the Walnut Grove residences.

Another matter will be adding speed tables and a four-way stop intersection for the new development along Newmarket Parkway and installing a radar speed sign at the entrance of the Charlton Forge subdivision.
