Marietta police will hold a Zone 4 town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Marietta High School, 1171 Whitlock Ave., following a fatal stabbing in Laurel Park on Saturday night.
Lintrel Dshun Gibert, 20, of Dallas was charged with murder and aggravated assault upon his arrest late Saturday night just outside the park, where he had attended a graduation party and is accused of stabbing John Benson, 36, also of Dallas, several times, following an argument.
Benson died of his injuries to the upper torso at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
Gibert was being held without bond in the Cobb jail as of late Monday morning.
In January, there was a shootout across from the park, where gunfire damaged homes, cars and mailboxes but no people.
At that time, the police also held a town hall meeting after that shooting to help calm the community.
