The Marietta Fire Department will open its yearly recruiting process for potential firefighters on March 1.

Applications will be accepted only during March.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED certificate, possess a valid driver’s license and must be able to pass a routine background check.

If all of these criteria are met, applicants will be eligible to take the Firefighters Entrance Exam.

The Marietta Fire Department employs three civilians and 133 uniformed fire personnel, serving nearly 60,000 residents and about 7,400 businesses in 23 square miles.
