The Marietta City Schools Board of Education and MCS Superintendent Grant Rivera will suggest four legislative priorities to the Cobb County delegation to the Georgia General Assembly.

  • Assessment flexibility: Instead of state-mandated End-of-Grade and End-of-Course assessments, increased flexibility for teachers and leaders to leverage assessments is requested.
  • Assessment results: By July 1 each year, the state is requested to make available student assessment results to school and district leaders to assist them with planning for the coming school year.
  • College and Career Academy: Continued resources are requested to help ensure that students are highly skilled and employable.
  • Graduation Rate: Adjustment of the graduation rate formula is requested to better reflect a minimum enrollment period that aligns with existing College and Career Ready Performance Index Full Academic Year calculations.
