Marietta City Schools will begin a new program in January to encourage and support student teachers as they transition into a career with the city’s school system.
The Incentive for Student Teacher Experience Placement (iSTEP) program will be comprised of up to seven special education, math and science student teachers for 18 months from January through May 2017.
This paid internship program will provide MCS with the opportunity to select students rather than place those who request MCS.
Funding of $50,925 would come from the Charter Funded Pilot Program.
