A Gwinnett County fugitive wanted in connection with a stabbing was arrested over the weekend.
David Lee Ray, 24, was wanted on aggravated assault charges for allegedly stabbing someone in the head and side during a fight at a June 15 barbecue, authorities said.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office fugitive unit was able to locate Ray on Friday at a home in Lawrenceville, and followed him when he left, Sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Sean Smith said.
Sheriff's deputies lost sight of Ray's vehicle as he pulled into and out of gas stations, Smith said.
They later found him again at a Lawrenceville car wash and contacted Gwinnett County police to make "felony traffic stop" before Ray could get onto I-85.
He was arrested and remains in custody without bond at the Gwinnett County jail. Ray also has outstanding arrest warrants from California.
