A Lawrenceville man who allegedly tried to save money filling his swimming pool by running a line to a nearby fire hydrant now will have to spend money on legal fees.
Richard Isaac, 51, has been charged with theft and the illegal use of a fire hydrant, Channel 2 Action News reports.
A neighbor called police about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to report someone had tapped a hose into a hydrant on Mint Julep Court.
Police traced the hose to a backyard pool.
According to a police report, the homeowner, Isaac, told police that the last time he filled his pool, it cost him too much money.
Isaac was arrested. He has since bonded out of jail.
Police estimate that he had about 5,000 gallons of water in his pool.
