A Gwinnett County man wanted on charges that he kidnapped a woman he knew, took her to an abandoned apartment and raped her was arrested when he showed up for a hearing at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Deivi Mauris Polanco, 31, whose last known address was an apartment on Treehouse Parkway in the Norcross area, was booked into the jail Wednesday morning and is being held without bond.

He is charged with kidnaping, rape, false imprisonment, aggravated stalking, burglary, hijacking of a motor vehicle, theft by taking, interfering with a call for emergency assistance and probation violation, according to Gwinnett jail records.

“Looks like he showed up at the jail for a hearing and the deputies snatched him up,” said Cpl. Jake Smith, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The female victim was returning home about 1 a.m. April 16 when a man wearing a mask pushed her back into her car, bound her hands and mouth and blindfolded her, police said. Channel 2 and the AJC do not identify victims of sexual assault.

She was taken to an apartment, assaulted several times through the evening, then taken to another apartment off Graves Road and was left there, police said. The woman chewed through the ties around her hands and escaped out an open window.
