Police in several jurisdictions were investigating a shooting early Friday that happened after a group of people left a Brookhaven Waffle House.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the victim and the alleged shooter were among a group of about eight men eating at the Waffle House on Clairmont Road at I-85.

The group left the restaurant before 4 a.m. in two vehicles, and the shooting is believed to have happened on the I-85 access road or on the interstate, according to Channel 2.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is being treated at Emory Hospital Midtown, where a car riddled with bullets is parked outside the emergency room and surrounded by crime scene tape.

Detectives from Atlanta, Brookhaven and DeKalb County are investigating the incident.

Friday’s shooting was the second in a week involving a metro Atlanta Waffle House.

Last Friday morning, a customer got into an argument with other patrons at a Waffle House on Cobb Parkway near Kennesaw and pulled out a gun and fired several shots. No one was hit, but one of the shots shattered a plate glass window in the restaurant.

Earlier this month, a man and woman were arrested on public intoxication charges after police said they caught them having sex in a pickup truck in the parking lot of a Loganville Waffle House.
