A man was rescued after his car flooded Wednesday in Atlanta, officials said.

The driver tried to pass through an area where a nearby creek had overflowed in the 1200 block of Beechwood Avenue, Atlanta fire spokesman Cortez Stafford said.

“His car started taking on water, and when the water got to his steering wheel, he got out and stayed on top of the roof,” Stafford said.

The man was not injured. His name was not released.
