A 59-year-old Riverdale man who allegedly pointed a gun at a car carrying a couple and their 4-year-old child was ordered held without bond during a hearing in Clayton County court Thursday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Hiram Alexander Perrin is in Clayton County Jail, charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of child cruelty, according to Clayton County Sheriff’s records.

The apparent road rage incident happened Wednesday morning on Tara Boulevard at Poston Road near Jonesboro.

Christy Lee was driving her 4-year-old daughter, Nevaeh, to day care, and her husband, Marcus Bateman, was riding with them, when a man pulled up next to her and brandished a gun, the woman told Channel 2.

Lee turned onto another street, but the other driver showed up next to her, pointed his gun at the woman and cocked the weapon, Bateman told the TV station.

Two other drivers who witnessed what happened flagged down a Clayton County Sheriff’s deputy and gave her the tag number and description of the suspect’s car, authorities said. Perrin was taken into custody shortly afterward.
