A 74-year-old man was killed and three others injured in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Paulding County, the Georgia State Patrol said Monday.

John N. Voorhees, of Hiram, was a passenger in a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis that turned into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection of Ga. 120 and Ga. 92 around 6:50 p.m., according to Gordy Wright, GSP spokesman. Voorhees died at the scene, Wright said.

Voorhees' wife, Jackie Ann Voorhees, 73, was driving the Mercury, police said. Jackie Ann Voorhees and two people in the Tahoe, Vernell Brown Martin, 35, and Sherrie Green, 31, both of Powder Springs, were all transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, police said. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

After the first collision, the Mercury spun and struck a Ford Taurus that was stopped for the traffic light southbound on Ga. 92, Wright said. The driver of the Taurus, James Joseph Brown, 24, of Austell, was not injured.

No charges had been filed in the wreck as of Monday afternoon, Wright said.
