A man trying to cross a busy road in Clayton County was struck and killed Tuesday night, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The unidentified pedestrian was crossing Tara Boulevard near Mount Zion Road about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a vehicle, according to Clayton County police. The driver stayed on the scene.

Police were investigating, and no charges had been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

The victim's name has not yet been released. The Clayton Medical Examiner's Office was attempting to reach his relatives Wednesday.
