Madeline Albright to speak at Agnes Scott graduation
Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will deliver the keynote remarks May 8 at Agnes Scott College's commencement, officials announced Thursday.
Albright was the first woman to serve as secretary of state. She currently chairs a global strategy firm and teaches at Georegtown University.
Agnes Scott President Elizabeth Kiss described Albright as a "true trailblazer."
"Her record of leadership, public service and commitment to creating a more just and humane world makes her a perfect role model for Agnes Scott students," Kiss said.
Agnes Scott is an all-women's college in Decatur with about 880 students.
Albright received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College, also an all-women's college. She is known as a long-time advocate for empowering women.
