The new president of Macon State College will be Jeffery Allbritten, the president of the Collier County campus of Edison State College in Florida.
The State Board of Regents hired Allbritten Friday. He begins July 1.
He will be the college's sixth president and replaces David Bell, who is stepping down June 30.
Allbritten previously served as a dean at Florida State College and was an associate dean at Middle Tennessee State University.
