Loganville City Hall, 4385 Pecan Street, will close at noon July 14 and reopen in its new location at 4303 Lawrenceville Road beginning 8 a.m. July 17. Residents will need to go to the new city hall to pay utility bills and request government services such as planning and zoning permits, new water service and facility rentals. All phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
The move to the former Loganville Elementary School will allow city government offices to consolidate under one roof. All city hall operations will be moved into the front wing of the old school, with the addition of code enforcement and the fire marshal’s office. Loganville’s city council meetings are not expected to move until August when new council chambers are complete.
The elementary school campus became vacant in 2016 when the Walton County School District opened a new school. Financing was approved in September with the Georgia Municipal Association as a facilitator for a low-interest loan totaling $1.6 million. The loan represents $250,000 over the purchase price of the building to provide funds for some of the renovation work.
Long-range plans for the 10-acre campus include moving the police and court operations into the second wing of the school and adding recreation opportunities to the grounds.
