Loganville recognizes police, fire and EMS personnel

The Loganville City Council recently recognized police, fire and EMS personnel with the Lifesaver Award.

Around 3 a.m. on Feb. 15, Loganville Fired Department personnel responded to reports of woman having difficulty breathing. While personnel rushed to the patient, Gisane Vincent, symptoms worsened, and Loganville Police Department Officer Bobby Ledbetter began chest compressions. Fire and EMS personnel arrived on the scene and took over chest compressions. The patient was resuscitated using an AED machine before she was transported to Piedmont Hospital in Monroe and then on to Gwinnett Medical Center.

Two of the Loganville Fire Department’s newest members involved in the response are still undergoing EMT training.

Those recognized were LFD Capt. Andy Logan, Sgt. Stephen Wilson and firefighters Kevin Rickman and Chase Roberts; EMS personnel Grayson Beagham, Josh Duck and Bill Jennings; and LPD Officer Bobby Ledbetter.
