Loganville will hold a public hearing just prior to this week’s city council meeting to discuss a multi-year purchase and financing contract. The meeting to review the acquisition of the old Loganville Elementary building will be 6 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 4385 Pecan St. prior to the council meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
The city has agreed to purchase the elementary school building at 4303 Lawrenceville Road from the Board of Education for $1,350,000. Loganville will finance the purchase using the Georgia Municipal Associations Bricks and Mortar Program at 2.19 percent for 15 years.
Students begin this school year in the new elementary school off Bay Creek Church Road.
According to City Manager Bill Jones, “Current plans have city employees relocating once abatement has been done to the building. Long-term plans are still being discussed.”
