The Locust Grove City Council voted at its Feb. 24 meeting to approve annexation and rezoning for two 24-acre tracts on land on Davis Lake Road.

Each piece of property was zoned RA (residential-agricultural), which is the same designation that was held in unincorporated Henry County. The property owners have indicated in the past that they have no plans to develop the land. The annexations and rezoning required four separate actions, and in each case the vote was 3-2 to approve with Chris Breedlove, Rod Shearouse and Willie Taylor in favor; Keith Boone and Carlos Greer opposed; and Randy Gardner recusing himself.
