Lilburn wants SPLOST, knows how it would spend it
The Lilburn City Council voted unanimously earlier this month to enter into an agreement with Gwinnett for distribution of the proposed Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. Voters in November must approve the 1-cent SPLOST.
The city also designated categories for planned expenditures and will designate specific projects at a later date. Lilburn will use the funds for three categories of expenditures: public safety facilities and equipment, roads, streets and bridges, and parks and recreation.
