The Lilburn City Council voted Monday to approve a package store license for Branded Barrel 1 LLC at 735 Pleasant Hill Road, located in front of the former Lowe’s. The Alcohol Review Board met on Oct. 5 and heard the new application.
Because the location has never held an alcohol license, the license required council approval.
The package store location exceeds the city requirements for distance from a church or school, which prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages within 100 yards of a church or 200 yards of any school grounds. The owner must now apply to the state for a state alcohol license, which has its own requirements.
