Lilburn City Council approved two separate special use permit applications Monday for auto/truck service businesses on Lawrenceville Highway, which will result in improvements to both properties.
Paradise Group LLC intends to demolish the existing 5,671-square-foot building at 4290 Lawrenceville Highway and construct a new 1,820-square-foot drive-through oil change facility with the option to use a bay for emissions testing. The site formerly accommodated commercial medical offices, but the building has been vacant for several years.
Amigo Auto Repair plans to expand into adjoining property at 4060 Lawrenceville Highway, which will continue to be partially occupied by a private glass installation company. The owner will be required to repaint the building and upgrade building drainage.
Because the properties are located in the U.S. 29 Overlay District, service is permitted only in enclosed bays, which must be oriented to the rear of the building. Body or paint repair is not allowed.
