Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $267,000 in life-saving equipment to 18 public safety organizations in metro Atlanta, including Cobb and Smyrna.
Since 2005, the foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million in Georgia.
Several public safety organizations in Cobb were recipients at the ceremony this month at the Cobb Safety Village, including the Cobb County Safety Village Foundation, Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services and Smyrna Police Department.
Donated equipment includes a tactical series robot capable of performing bomb disposal, surveillance and reconnaissance, thermal-imaging cameras to help locate victims, an interactive fire safety house, automated external defibrillators, a fire hose, vehicle extrication equipment and tablet computers.
Firehouse Subs is already a donor at the Cobb Safety Village, sponsoring a storefront in the mini-village, 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta.
The company’s new sponsorship funds will be used to build the Public Safety Fire and Police buildings at the village.
