The Lawrenceville City Council recently tabled a zoning change decision that could allow for a proposed teen club/lounge at The Village shopping center, 706 Grayson Highway. The applicant, Tanya C. Nelson, is proposing a lounge targeting teens age 15-18 to provide a “safe, fun, secure, positive, safe haven outlet environment atmosphere lounge.”

A list of amenities includes free Wifi, food, beverages, juice bar, live DJ, television for sports fans, ping-pong, themed parties and organized dance parties.

City officials are working with the applicant to determine the most approporate zoning requirements for the range of proposed activities. As a result, the item was tabled until the city council’s next work session scheduled for Oct. 18.
