Lawrenceville’s Downtown Pedestrian Safety Project continues as the city works to convert S. Perry Street and S. Clayton Street to two-way traffic. The section of downtown including Clayton Street between Crogan and Pike streets will remain unchanged. Intersections throughout the city will be widened and receive signal improvements, including pedestrian signals.

Work planned for Sept. 4-8 includes demolition of concrete along S. Perry Street and Nash Street, curb and gutter installation, as well as work to backfill and dress shoulders, electrical underground conduit installation, survey and layout, and storm drain installation along Clayton Street. Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures while the work continues.

Work completed so far includes demolition of concrete along S. Perry Street, survey and layout of the area, electrical conduit installation, silt fence installation and grading of the corner of Nash and Clayton streets.
