The Lawrenceville City council voted recently to approve agreements with the Downtown Development Authority of Lawrenceville making the city responsible for maintenance, repair and upkeep of The Depot building, the Boulder Creek Coffee building and a general agreement for any other buildings that the DDA owns or leases. In exchange for the maintenance, the city will receive the revenue from leases entered into by the DDA.
The Gwinnett School of Music Lease is specifically approved and ratified by the city. Gwinnett School of Music is located in the historic Train Depot. The building was built in 1910 and not only houses the Gwinnett School of Music, but is utilized as a venue for concerts and other events.
