The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to approve a contract for construction material testing and special inspections for the new Public Works facility. Three contractors bid for the work which will include shallow foundation testing, soil density tests, concrete, masonry and steel testing, fireproofing, asphalt and aggregate base testing, waterproofing and water intrusion prevention. Each company was evaluated based on stability, experience, suitability and price.

The contract was awarded to low bidder United Consulting of Norcross in the amount of $46,834.00. The total is under budget for the project.
