The Lassiter High School guidance counselor accused of allegedly fondling a student is being allowed to go back to work.
The Cobb County School Board voted, 4-2, to reinstate Frank Robinson.
A three-member tribunal made a recommendation during Wednesday’s meeting not to fire Robinson, Cobb Schools spokesman Jay Dillon told the AJC.
“The board upheld the tribunal’s recommendation,” he said.
Robinson, 45, has been accused of touching the intimate parts of a 17-year-old female student on Dec. 8 while she was in his office at Lassiter.
The school system had begun the process of terminating him after he was given the opportunity to resign and refused. He has been with the school system for six years.
Robinson was reinstated because the boar dfound he did nothing wrong said his attorney Warren C. Fortson.
Robinson will return to work on Tuesday, Dillon said, but will be reassigned to another school. He faces one count of sexual battery for the Dec. 8 incident, Cobb County police spokesman Joseph Hernandez said.
