Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved $877,308 Tuesday for electrical room improvements at the Lanier Filter Plant in Buford. The project will improve the 25 year old existing electrical and HVAC equipment including installation of a new low voltage switchgear, a new motor control center, a power meter, duplex sump pump system, new HVAC system for the filter gallery and electrical room, replacement of the existing air handling unit and associated duct work with a new ventilation and heating system, as well as SCADA system integration work.

The Lanier Filter Plant is one of two water filter plants processing as much as 150 million gallons per day to supply the county’s water needs.
