Continuing roadway and bridge construction as part of I-285/Ga. 400 interchange work will mean more overnight lane and ramp closures in the top-end area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties.

The two left eastbound and two left westbound lanes of I-285 are scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, between Glenridge Drive and Peachtree Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

GDOT also announced that the southbound exit ramp from Ga. 400 to Abernathy Road/Dunwoody is to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Monday through Friday, to let crews set temporary concrete barriers for upcoming construction.

The suggested detour is to continue south on Ga. 400, exit to Hammond Drive, turn left on Hammond and re-enter Ga. 400 northbound back to Abernathy.

Exact dates of the closures may change due to the weather or other factors, GDOT said. Information: https://bit.ly/2jfU8S7

Separately, in work unrelated to the I-285/Ga. 400 project, GDOT crews will close the on-ramps from Lenox Road to Ga. 400 in Buckhead for nightly paving activities. Closures are scheduled for 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday-Tuesday for the southbound ramp, and the same hours Tuesday-Wednesday for the northbound ramp. Message boards will alert drives of the closures in advance, GDOT said.
