Fayette County’s plan to dredge Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City may include more work to improve water quality.
City attorney Andy Welch told the City Council of Peachtree City last Thursday that the county has offered the city the option of removing more built-up silt along the lake’s eastern shore, but the additional cost would be between $400,000 and $1.3 million.
The city currently does not have such funds budgeted, and work is due to begin in January. Further discussion is planned for the council’s Nov. 20 meeting.
