You will soon be able to put fuel into your belly and your tank at the Kroger in Pavilions at Eastlake.

Cobb County commissioners voted in June to approve the supermarket’s request to build a gas station on its 14½-acre 2100 Roswell Road property.

Garvis Sams, the Marietta attorney who represented Kroger, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that his client only needs to submit the construction plans and permits. The gas station will be like all the others, so he doesn’t expect any problem.

Commissioners approved the plan at their June 19 meeting.

According to its application with the county, Kroger will demolish a struggling 10,000-square-foot retail building to make room for the gas station in the southwest corner of the property.

It will have seven fueling stations and be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

That stretch of Roswell Road gets about 57,000 average daily trips, according to Kroger’s application to the city.

Sams said the gas station can be built in about eight months once the building plans and permits are approved.
