Krispy Kreme fans in Snellville will have reasons to smile Tuesday, July 14, when Krispy Kreme hosts the grand opening of its new doughnut and coffee shop at 1635 Scenic Highway. The company has hired 70 employees at this new location.

“Krispy Kreme is one of the most beloved sweet treat brands around and we look forward to serving our neighbors and others throughout the area melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts,” said Maurice Gilbert, Krispy Kreme District Manager.

The Snellville location will randomly surprise in-shop guests throughout grand opening week with offers like the “Celebration Dozen Ticket” providing one free dozen doughnuts every month for a year.

In addition to complying with government and health-related guidelines, Krispy Kreme has also begun reopening dining rooms in certain locations, including the new Snellville shop. Details about ordering, delivery and fundraising options: www.KrispyKreme.com.

The Snellville shop will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
