Nineteen people died on Georgia’s roads over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the Georgia State Patrol reported Monday.

Another 263 injuries were reported in the 622 wrecks investigated by the GSP during the period, which began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ended at midnight Sunday.

In metro Atlanta, fatal crashes were being investigatated by Fulton County police, Norcross police, the Forsyth and Coweta County sheriff’s offices and by GSP troopers in Gainesville, Newnan and Villa Rica.

Last year, 13 people died and another 303 were hurt in wrecks over the same 102-hour period.
