Cobb County police said a vehicle that failed to stop for authorities early Saturday was found a short time later overturned on an on-ramp to I-75, and two people were killed.

The identities of the driver and a juvenile who died were not disclosed. A third person in the 1996 blue Cadillac, also a juvenile, was seriously injured, police said.

Police said the Cadillac was westbound on Windy Hill Road near Leland Drive around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when the driver allegedly committed several traffic violations.

Instead of stopping for police, the driver allegedly accelerated to high rate of speed as it entered the on-ramp for I-75 southbound.

Police said they lost track of the Cadillac on the exit ramp to Cumberland Boulevard but found it a short while later on its roof and on fire on the I-75 southbound ramp from Cumberland Boulevard. It appeared the vehicle had struck two concrete curbs and a retainer wall before flipping, police said.

A juvenile died at the scene, police said. The driver was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died.

The second juvenile in the accident  was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in serious condition. He was in stable condition after surgery, police said.
