A Kennesaw public art mural will be unveiled April 20 for the Big Shanty Festival.

The Kennesaw Arts & Culture Commission has partnered with Graphics Communication Professor Kristine Hwang of Kennesaw State University and her students to design this year’s mural.

The KSU students submitted their group designs as a part of their Senior Capstone Project, and the KACC members voted for the top design.

Featuring artists from Cobb, Cherokee and Bartow counties, the mural installation kicks off the annual Juried Art Exhibit Competition.

The mural will be unveiled at 6 p.m. April 20 as a part of the Art Exhibit opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Venue on Main, 2847 S. Main St., Kennesaw.

Art awards will be presented at 7 p.m. during the reception.

The events also are sponsored by The Venue on Main, High Stakes Digital and Simmer Time Café.
